James Felton

James Jesse Felton, age 60, of Wauconda Illinois passed away peacefully on October 27th, 2022, in Cary, Illinois at the home of his son and was surrounded with love by his family.

He was born to Barbara Joyce Felton on March 10th, 1962, in Waukegan, Illinois. James was a hard worker his entire life and a Jack of all trades who could fix anything. He was a self-motivated individual who taught himself everything he knew in the maintenance industry. He was considered a mentor to all the new hires at his workplace and loved sharing his knowledge with others.  He was always learning new skills by reading books to sharpen his abilities. He enjoyed talking about the new projects he had at work and the wonderful people he collaborated with.

James bought his first and lifelong home in Wauconda, Illinois with his first wife Angela to where they proudly brought their son Daniel home. This home holds beautiful, lifelong memories for all.

James later married Megan and inherited two beautiful, kind stepdaughters.  He adored and loved Meggie and Charlotte, as if they were his own. James and Megan were best friends and enjoyed all of life’s journeys together.

When James wasn’t working, he loved to learn how to play new songs on his guitar(s) including some originals of his own. He had a love and passion for jamming with his buddies back in the day. He always had an ear for new bands & songs and loved to be the first to share his favorites with his nearest people.

He loved his dog Hootie so much as they shared a hobby and passion of forest preserve walks and picnics of Portillo’s & Jersey Mikes. He also loved to cook hearty meals like pot roast and could always go for a BLT with EXTRA crispy bacon.

James became a grandfather in 2021 which naturally became his favorite role in life. There wasn’t a day that passed where he didn’t ask for his daily “Brix Pics”. Every weekend since Brixton was born, James made sure to visit. He loved to spend quality time with the people he adored the most. He loved to give gifts, break bread and chat about the week’s events. James was the best storyteller and could keep you on the edge of your seat while always making you laugh.

James was preceded in death by his mother Barbara.

His beautiful life will forever be cherished and celebrated by his surviving son Daniel James Felton, his daughter-in-law Nichole Felton, his grandson Brixton Felton, his wife Megan Felton, stepdaughters Meggie Newman & Charlotte Newman-Casey, his brother Peter and sister Elizabeth.

Visitation for James will be held Tuesday, November 1st, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N Cemetery Rd, Gurnee, IL 60031 (located on the northside of the intersection of Tri-State Parkway and Cemetery Rd.). The Funeral Service will immediately follow at 6:30 p.m. The Committal Service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. the following day, Wednesday November 2nd, 2022 also at Warren Funeral Home.  The interment will immediately follow at Warren Cemetery and Mausoleum 1495 N. Cemetery Rd. Gurnee, IL 60031 (on the same property as the funeral home).
