Howard G Luckritz, 79, of Beach Park, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2009 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan. He was born on August 16, 1930 in Waukegan, Illinois to Gustave and Elsie (Totterdell) Luckritz. On June 2, 1951 in Waukegan, he married Dolores Sager. He is survived by this three children; Cathy Ann (Gary) Rudzinski of Middletown, OH; Lisa Marie (Dave) Williams of Beach Park and Steven Lloyd (Kelli) Luckritz of Waukegan; two grandchildren, Amber Lynn (Jeremy) Brewer of Middletown OH and Cody James Luckritz of Waukegan; three great grandchildren, Connor Scott, Colby Matthew and Avery Lynn Brewer all of Middletown, OH. He is also survived by his nieces Karen (Luckritz) Amison of Las Cruces, New Mexico, and Susan (Johns) Torbeck of Mundelein Illinois and six step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Dolores, on December 4, 2009; his parents Gustave and Elsie, a brother, Herbert G (Mae Jones) Luckritz; a sister, Elaine M (Kenneth) Johns, parents-in-law Lloyd and Marie Tucker. Howie attended Andrew Cooke Grade School and Waukegan Township High School - Class of 1948. He entered the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean war, attaining the rank of Sergent. After serving in the Marines, Howie worked up through the ranks of the advertising department at the News-Sun where he began his career in 1948. He attained the position of Retail Advertising Manager and Retail-National Advertising Co-ordinator until he retired in 1990, after 42 plus years of service. Howie also served as a counselor for Junior Achievement Center of Waukegan, was a member of Demolay, B.P.O.E, Swedish Glee Club and Gurnee American Legion. Services are private.
