Henry Green

Henry Green 82 of Waukegan, IL passed away at Highland Park Hospital on Monday, November 6, 2017 in Highland Park. He was born July 18, 1935 in Sunflower, Mississippi to the late Eddie and Ruby Lee (Jones) Green Sr. and retired from the V.A. Hospital after 40 years of service. Henry was married to Margaret (Carr) Green for 49 years until her passing on June 18, 2015. Henry was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Waukegan for over 32 years. Henry enjoyed cooking and singing in the Shiloh Baptist Church Choir. He is survived by his daughters Ruby Sanders Barber and Delores Green. Grandchildren Iyeshea Cohen and Rafeal Sanders, Great Grandchildren Jah-Niyah Coleman, Isaiah Sanders, Babette Cohen, Bricia-Colette Cohen, and Brooklynn Rose Cohen, his brothers Paul (Jane), Earl (Verna) and David Green. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and nephews and friends. He was preceded by his Parents, wife Margaret, sisters Sarah Smith, Bertha Smith, Rosie Dezell, Betty Green, Mary Parish and his brothers Jacob, Solomon and Eddie Green Jr. Pallbearers will be Mike Wright, Sam Cunningham, Timmy Sullivan, Myron Phelps and Carl Evans. The family would also like to mention Special Friends, Maxine Walker, Eula Bates, Dorothy Speed and Andrew Gaston. Childhood Friend, James Lee Strong. The family would like to extend a special Thank you to his Home Health Aides, Dianne Curry, Franketta Woods, Katherine Booker, David Turnipseed, Keith Ringgold and Genia Sue Griffin, as well as, Tracie Barnett, owner of Loving Heart Home Care and Liz Rogers, Dr. William Cotter and Allan Pitchan from the V.A. Home Base Primary Care Staff and especially to the Shiloh Baptist Church Family. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday November 11, 2017 from 10-11 AM at Shiloh Baptist Church, 800 South Genesee St. Waukegan, IL. Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. at the Church. Burial will be at Northshore Garden of Memories in North Chicago, IL. The Family is being assisted by Warren Funeral Home.
