Haydee Lopez

Haydee Lopez, 91, of Beach Park, IL, passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at home with her family at her side.

She was born on January 28, 1931, in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, to Victor and Benicia Lopez.

Haydee moved to Waukegan, IL in 1952 from Arecibo, Puerto Rico where she got married and had three children.  She retired after 25 years in Manufacturing from Abbott Laboratories.  She enjoyed family time, cooking, gardening, traveling, music, dancing, and helping others.  Throughout her life she was also an active member of the Puerto Rican Society of Waukegan in a variety of duties.

Haydee will be lovingly missed and remembered by her children; Gricel (Robert) Valls, Jorge (Kathy) Colon, and Marilyn Colon as well as eight grandchildren, Amarilis Edison, Pedro Irizarry III, Servita Reyes, Yanitz Irizarry, Kachiri Irizarry, Benica Colon, Jorge Colon, and Roberto Valls; six great grandchildren, Alexis Edison, Max Edison, Xavier Irizarry, Mercedez Reyes, Aidan Irizarry, Milver Reyes; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Victor & Benicia Lopez, and her brother Jorge Lopez.

Visitation will be on Friday, February 25, 2022, from 10 a.m. until noon with the funeral service immediately following at Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee, IL.  Interment will be at Northshore Garden of Memories in North Chicago following the funeral service.
