Gerald Supanich

Supanich, Gerald A. "Jerry" 77, of Libertyville died at home with family on Monday July 16, 2012. Jerry chose to donate his body to the education of future care givers through the Anatomical Gift Association, Chicago, Illinois. Memorial service to be determined later. Interment will be at Warren Cemetery, Gurnee, Illinois. He was born in Detroit, Michigan August 28, 1934. Long-time resident of Libertyville, Jerry led a life of service to his country, neighborhood, friends and family. A veteran of the Korean War, he served with the 1st Marine Corp Division. A foreman for the North Shore Gas Company, Jerry retired after 30 years of service. He loved bowling, archery, hunting and fishing. He was an extremely dedicated care giver to his wife of nearly 55 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Nicholas Supanich of L'Anse, Michigan and his mother, Annabelle Supanich (nee Morin) of Attleboro, Massachusetts and the love of his life, his wife Marjorie J. Supanich. Surviving are their five children and thirteen grandchildren, Wanda Supanich and her husband, Dana Winter and their two girls, Mia Whisler (nee Supanich-Winter) and her husband, Michael Whisler and Hanna Supanich-Winter, Sandra Gordon (nee Supanich) and her husband, Robert Gordon and their two children, Kathryn Gordon and Christopher Gordon, Linda Oliveira (nee Supanich) and her husband, David Oliveira and their children, Margaret Hull, Daniel Hull, Maxwell Oliveira and Samuel Oliveira, Jeri Schertz (nee Supanich) and her husband, John Schertz and their three children, Samantha Schertz, Matthew Schertz and Morgan Schertz, Carla Supanich and her husband, Jason Sayers and their two boys, Jack Sayers and Paxton Sayers. Also surviving are his sister, Arlene (Charles) Lennartz of Mansfield, Massachusetts; six nieces; one nephew; five grand-nieces and six grand-nephews. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society , Lake County Regional Society, 100 Tri-State International, Ste. 125, Lincolnshire, IL 60069 or Libertyville Township Food Pantry, 359 Merrill Court, Libertyville, IL 60048. Arrangements entrusted to Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd, Gurnee.
