George Raymond Smith, Jr., 65, of Beach Park passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at home with his family. He was born on February 11, 1948 in North Carolina. On December 15, 1979, George married Ingrid Berzins in Waukegan.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Ingrid Berzins Smith of Beach Park; son-in-law, Ralph Circelli of Beach Park; grandson, Greyson Circelli of Beach Park; sister-in-law, Irene Berzins of Beach Park; brothers, Howard (Yvonne) Smith of Texas, Johnny (Toni) Smith of Tennessee; sister, Dianne Crawford of North Carolina and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Larissa Smith Circelli on October 16, 2011 and his parents, George R. Smith, Sr. and Lola Carter.
George served as a Corpsman in Vietnam. He worked as a nurse in numerous places out of state and locally at A.I. H., Victory Memorial Hospital and Condell Medical Center. He then became a computer technician for District 60 in Waukegan. George was busy whenever possible with hobbies such as jewelry making, gardening, woodworking and repairs of all kinds.
Memorial donations may be made to the Christopher Reeves Foundation or any Vietnam Veterans organization of your choice.
Arrangements entrusted to WARREN FUNERAL HOME, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee. Interment will be private.
