George Brofka, Jr., 79, of Winthrop Harbor passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Vista Medical Center East. He was born in Waukegan on May 28, 1932. George married Joanne Schroeder on April 28, 1973 in Wauwatosa,WI.
Survived by loving wife of 38 years, Joanne Brofka; son, Marc (Melissa) Brofka and sister, Bernice Christianson. He was preceded in death by parents, George and Mary (Czajkowski) Browka; three brothers, Edward (Mariane), Victor (Ann) and Eugene (Elaine) Brofka.
George graduated from Waukegan High School, was an Air Force veteran from Korea and worked 37 years at the Great Lakes Navel Station Public Works.
Visitation is Monday, December 5, 2011, 5:00pm-8:00pm at Winthrop Harbor United Methodist Church, 600 College Avenue. Funeral services are Tuesday, 10:30am, December 6, 2011 at church, one hour visitation prior to services. Entombment at 2:00pm, Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Warren Cemetery & Mausoleum, Gurnee.
