Frederic Stripe

Frederic F. Stripe, 100, of Lake Forest passed away Thursday, February 7, 2013 at home. He was born February 3, 1913 in Waukegan, IL. In September 1940, Frederic married Margaret Matson.

He is survived by his loving sons, Frederic A. Stripe and Bill (Helen) Stripe; one granddaughter, Amy (Tom) O'Regan; two great grandchildren, Quinlan and Maeve O'Regan and special friend and caregiver, Beth Dinan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruben and Anne (Flint) Stripe, wife of 71 years, Margaret Stripe, brothers, Chester, Rupert and Julian Stripe and sister, Frances.

Frederic's early love of flying started in Waukegan at five years old, advanced through Pennsylvania Central Airlines, Capital Airlines, retiring with United Airlines, achieving a career from "Jennies to Jets."

A graveside service is Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at 11:00am at WARREN FUNERAL HOME, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee. Burial at Warren Cemetery, Gurnee.
