Freddie Lee Myers Sr. passed away on October 11, 2024, at the age of 75, at Captain James Lovell Federal Health in North Chicago, Illinois. Born on January 9, 1949, Freddie graduated from Zion Benton High School and furthered his education at Shimer College.


Freddie dedicated over 36 years of service to the Great Lakes Naval Base, marking a distinguished career. His commitment extended beyond his civilian duties as he proudly served in the Army as a Specialist Four (SPC4), a testament to his dedication and resilience.


A man of many interests, Freddie was passionate about reading, fishing, playing pool, and chess. He also enjoyed watching football and westerns, which were a significant part of his leisure time.


Freddie is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Brenda (Cunningham) Myers, and their five children: Kimberly Myers, Valerina Robinson, Valerie Myers, Bernadette (Kevin) Prince, Freddie Lee Myers Jr. and Raquel Myers. His legacy continues through his 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, alongside numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Ruthie Myers, and three siblings.


A private ceremony will be held for immediate family members only. Freddie's life was one of profound dedication, both to his family and his country, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.
