Frank Neylon, 94, of Chicago, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with his family by his side. He was a native of Doon County, Limerick, Ireland, and born on April 22, 1919 to John and Brigid (nee Fox) Neylon. He is survived by his former wife, best friend and mother of his children, Olive Godvik of Round Lake Beach; four children, Michael Neylon of Chicago, Sheila (Mike) Duncan of Fox Lake, Margaret Neylon of Fox Lake and Sean Godvik of Chicago; three grandchildren, Daniel (Katelyn) Quinn, Christine Quinn and Alison Godvik; three great grandchildren, Nevaeh Martinez, Salihah Gilbert and Aubrey Quinn; one brother, Dan Neylon of England; two sisters, Mary Barry of Colorado and Margaret Cornell of England and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers. Frank worked and retired as a letter carrier for many years at the United States Post Office on Chestnut Street in Chicago. He was a member of the Irish American Heritage Center, a longtime parishioner of St. Edwards Catholic Church in Chicago, a lifelong White Sox fan and attended both World Series, first in 1959 and then in 2005; he was VERY proud of them. Frank was also an avid hockey fan, enjoyed watching the Blackhawks from home, loved the outdoors, going to Ravinia, gardening, classical music, going to the beach, and spending time with his family, especially at Christmas time. A memorial service will be held at the Irish American Heritage Center, 4626 N. Knox Avenue, Chicago, IL 60630 on Sunday, April 13, 2014 from 4-7pm.
