Frank Gonzales, Sr., 94, of Zion, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Barton House. He was born on October 10, 1920 in Texas.
He is survived by his three loving children, Alice G. (Henry) Hernandez, Edward (Renee) Gonzales and Virginia (Robert) Rivera; one brother, Pete Gonzalez; one sister, Helen Salazar; one daughter-in-law, Janet Gonzales; 18 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 15 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Jessie M. Gonzales; one son, Frank Gonzales, Jr.; two sisters, Virginia G. Thompson and Mary Gallagos, and four brothers, Johnny, Albert, Jimmy and Pipes Gonzales.
Frank served in the US Army during WWII. He loved spending time with his family. Frank enjoyed singing, dancing and was an avid Oakland Raiders fan.
Mass will be Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 10am with one hour of visitation prior to services at Holy Family Catholic Church, 450 Keller Ave., Waukegan with Fr. Jacque Beltran and Deacon Marcelino Hernandez officiating. Entombment will follow at Warren Cemetery, Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, Gurnee.
Memorial donations may be made to his family.
