Floyd Curtis Mikels, 67, of Zion, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at home. He was born on November 18, 1945 in Centerville, Iowa. He married Jean Dawidiak on September 4, 2002 in Waukegan. He is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Jean Mikels; children, Steven Mikels Donahue, Jeffery (Anna Malloy) Mikels, Roberta (Jose) Nieto and Sheri (Albert Rico, Jr.) Mikels; step-daughters, Katie (Tom) Gregory and Megan Dawidiak; brothers, Charles (Willie) Mikels, Frederick (Brenda) Mikels and David Mikels; sisters, Fairy Mae Mikels, Katherine Suhling and Donna Fortin; grandchildren, Nicole Mikels, Maxwell Mikels, Janel Nieto, Angela Nieto, Aaron Nieto, Juliana Nieto, Andrea Rico and Jason Gregory; great-granddaughter, Ariana Friend and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Mikels and Sarah (nee Hanson) Mikels and step-mother, Lucille (nee Boberick) Mikels Bowman; sister, Roberta Mikels and brother-in-law, John Suhling, Sr. Floyd was a US Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. Visitation is Friday, October 11, 2013 from 4-8 pm at Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee. Funeral Services are Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 10am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Willow Lawn Memorial Park in Vernon Hills.
