Emily Leonardi

Emily Marie (Simpson) Leonardi, 77, of Lake Villa, Illinois, passed away on Monday, October 18, 2021, at her home.

She was born on November 24, 1943, in Los Angeles, California, to James and Ethel (Harding) Simpson. On December 12, 1978, Emily married John F. Leonardi, Jr., who preceded her in death in 2013.

While living in Arizona, Emily and her husband John (a U.S. Army veteran) were very involved in the American Legion.  Emily spent many years as an escrow officer in the real estate industry.

Emily is survived by sons Mark Rose and Scott Rose (wife Shannon), stepdaughter Marisa Leonardi (husband Gerard Collins), and stepson John F. Leonardi III (wife Lyndie); her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Jean Jenkins and Susan Costea.

She was preceded in death by her husband John, her son Michael Simpson, and her parents.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021, from 1 – 3 p.m. at Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee, IL.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and in accordance with current State of Illinois mandates, all guests will be required to wear a face mask while in the funeral home.
