Elida Carrales

Elida Carrales, age 75, of Round Lake Beach, passed away surrounded by her loving family on October 24, 2023. Beloved wife of Mauro Carrales. Loving mother of Mauricio (Herminia) Carrales, Lorena (Shawn) Gritzmacher, and Adriana (Jeremiah) Allen. Proud grandmother of Wynette Karina and Camila Kate Carrales. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Candelaria Puga, and father, Francisco Demes.

Elida was born and raised in Mexico by her mother Cande, later emigrating to the USA in Chicago, where she was fortunate to have met and fell in love with Mauro, who she soon married and raised three much loved children.

She attended both Triton College in River Grove and Roma School of Beauty Culture in Chicago. Elida enjoyed her career as an ambitious and dedicated surgical technologist at St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital, Mount Sinai Hospital, Sherman Hospital, Condell Hospital, and Glenbrook Hospital. As a licensed cosmetologist, she also enjoyed working as a beautician.

Elida loved spending time with family, meeting new people, and making new friends. She enjoyed expressing her love through cooking traditional Mexican dishes and always made sure her friends and family were well fed. She attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Round Lake, Illinois. She loved music, singing and dancing, doing word-find puzzles, crocheting, traveling, and was an enthusiastic casino-goer.

Although life challenged her from beginning to end, she was never afraid to confront it.

Elida was an extraordinarily selfless individual. We will miss her warm smile, laughter, voice, and loving touch. She will be missed by all who love her.

Her memory and spirit will continue to live within us.

Friends and family will meet for visitation on Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N. Cemetery Road, Gurnee. The memorial service will then begin at 12:00 p.m.

Elida Carrales, de 75 años, de Round Lake Beach, falleció rodeada de su amada familia el 24 de octubre de 2023. Amada esposa de Mauro Carrales. Madre amorosa de Mauricio (Herminia) Carrales, Lorena (Shawn) Gritzmacher y Adriana (Jeremiah) Allen. Orgullosa abuela de Wynette Karina y Camila Kate Carrales. Le precedieron en la muerte su amada madre, Candelaria Puga, y su padre, Francisco Demes.

Elida nació y creció en México por su madre Cande, luego emigró a Estados Unidos en Chicago, donde tuvo la suerte de conocer y enamorarse de Mauro, con quien pronto se casó y crió a tres hijos muy queridos.

Asistió a Triton College en River Grove y a Roma School of Beauty Culture en Chicago. Elida disfrutó de su carrera como tecnóloga quirúrgica ambiciosa y dedicada en el Hospital St. Mary of Nazareth, el Hospital Mount Sinai, el Hospital Sherman, el Hospital Condell y el Hospital Glenbrook. Como cosmetóloga autorizada, también disfrutaba trabajando como esteticista.

A Elida le encantaba pasar tiempo con la familia, conocer gente nueva y hacer nuevos amigos. Disfrutaba expresar su amor cocinando platos tradicionales mexicanos y siempre se aseguraba de que sus amigos y familiares estuvieran bien alimentados. Asistió a la iglesia católica St. Joseph en Round Lake, Illinois. Le encantaba la música, cantar y bailar, hacer crucigramas, hacer crochet, viajar y era una entusiasta asidua a los casinos.

Aunque la vida la desafió de principio a fin, nunca tuvo miedo de afrontarla.

Elida era una persona extraordinariamente altruista y caritativa. Extrañaremos su cálida sonrisa, risa, voz y toque amoroso. Todos los que la aman la extrañarán.

Su memoria y espíritu seguirán viviendo dentro de nosotros.

Amigos y familiares se reunirán para recibir visitas el sábado 4 de noviembre de 2023, de 10:00 a. m. a 12:00 p. m. en Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N. Cemetery Road, Gurnee. El acto conmemorativo comenzará a las 12:00 horas.
