Edgar G. Cavazos, 47, of Waukegan, IL passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 after a long battle with addiction. He was born February 10, 1974 in Montemorelos, Nuevo Leon, Mexico and moved to the United States as a child in 1978.
Edgar's addiction did not define him, but instead he defined himself as a child of God - chosen, loved, saved. He loved Jesus and is now with his Maker to live eternally with Him. Edgar’s mission was to tell everyone about Jesus and lead people to him while on his Journey here on earth. This, he said, was his purpose. He was always able to see the beauty in everyone and everything despite all his struggles.
Edgar was known for being a super friendly and lively goofball. He had a beautiful spirit. He loved playing with his kids, nieces, and nephews and made everyone laugh. He was a hard worker, creative, and great with his hands. He created beautiful things, remodeled homes, wood crafted, knew plumbing and was the ultimate Mr. Fix It. He was a helper, humble, so loving and caring in his good times, always making friends wherever he went.
He is survived by his children: Natalia Cavazos, Ximena Cavazos, Camila Cavazos, and Emiliano Cavazos; Parents: Guadalupe Cavazos and Romana Garcia; siblings: Lydia Contreras, Octavio Cavazos, and Mariellen Christian; several nieces, nephews and friends.
