Donald V. Robinson, 83, of Lake Villa, passed away March 23, 2016 at home surrounded by his family. He was born May 14, 1932 in Zion, IL to Elwell and Jesse (Kilbreath) Robinson. He married the love of his life, Ann E. Maki on April 23, 1960 in Waukegan. Donald graduated from Webster High School in Wisconsin. He was a US Army Veteran serving in South Korea from 1953-1955. Donald was a lifelong Carpenter in Local 250, attended Lakeland Baptist Church, was an avid hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed many years of his retirement in the Northwoods.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Ann E. Robinson; sons, Gordon (Carlyn Raduechel) Robinson, Arthur (Dawn) Robinson, Daniel Robinson and Curtiss (Abby) Robinson; daughters-in-law, Mary Robinson and Margaret Robinson; grandchildren, Kristine (Jason) Rivard, Philip (Sarah) Robinson, Colin Robinson, Emily Robinson, Kathryn Robinson, Megan Robinson, Valerie Robinson, Brittany (Paul) Kitchin, Stephanie (Jeff) Martini, Jackie Martini, Ryan (Lisa) Plunkett, Brianna Plunkett and Lexi Potash; great grandchildren, Jacob and Peter; aunt, Laurie Robinson; brother-in-laws, Edwin Olsen, David Maki, Arthur (Ruth) Maki, Victor (Mary) Maki and Michael Maki; sisters-in-law, Heidi (Timothy) Czarnik and Aila Maki; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, Kathy Robinson; sisters, Rhoda (Norm) Edwards, Doris Olsen, Beverly Ulrich and Valerie (Robert) Conn; brother-in-law, William Maki and sister-in-law, Linda Martel.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 11am at Lakeland Baptist Church, 24551 W. Grand Avenue, Lake Villa, IL with Pastor Roger Blanchard officiating. Visitation will be at church from 9am-11am. Entombment will be at Warren Cemetery & Mausoleum, Gurnee. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lakeland Baptist Church.
