Donald Gordon Moore, 81, born on November 10, 1930, of Winthrop Harbor went peacefully to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at home surrounded by family after a lengthy illness. He was born and raised in Zion to Gordon and Hazel Moore. Don married Barbara Wedekind on November 11, 1950. He was widowed and later married Rosemarie Kinsey. He is survived by wife of 20 years, Marie; five children, Robert (Mary) Moore, Martin (Sheila) Moore, Michael (Jo Anne) Moore, Thomas (Kathleen) Moore and James (Wendy) Moore; sister, Harriette Brock; twelve grandchildren, Jesse (Amy) Moore, Aaron Moore, Natalie Baum, Joshua Moore, Jeremy Moore, Angela Moore, Kelly Moore, Amy Moore, Julia Moore, Kayleigh Moore, Anita and Luken; seven great-grandchildren, Cierra, Arianna, Jacob, Jordynn, Janine, Olivia and Rylie and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Anita in 1978; first wife, Barbara Moore in 1986 and two sisters, Louise Gaddis and Ruth Mock. Don had a strong passion for God, family and country. He was a member of the Plumbers Local #93, a lifetime member of the NRA, member of the Zion Auxiliary Police for many years and also a member of the Northern Illinois Patriots. Don enjoyed many family vacations all the way from Washington to Florida, including the boundary waters and everywhere in between. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, dancing, and he was a strong believer in the Constitution, Second Amendment and an avid Pro-Life Supporter. Visitation is Tuesday, November 22, 2011 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at WARREN FUNERAL HOME, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee. Funeral services are 10:00am, Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at the funeral home. Entombment at Warren Cemetery, Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, Gurnee.
