Denny Overbey

Denny Overbey, 71, of Beach Park, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2016 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with his family by his side. He was born June 5, 1945 in Waukegan to William and Elvie (Lowrance) Overbey. On December 18, 1964 in Waukegan, Denny married the love of his life, Mary Needham. Denny owned and operated a Texaco Gas Station in North Chicago for many years, then worked at Andro Pucin Distributing in Waukegan for 30 years as a truck driver. He was an animal lover, avid car enthusiast, enjoyed drag racing, and owned his own drag racing cars. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Mary Overbey; daughter, Deborah Overbey; son, Scott Overbey; brother, Joseph Overbey; sisters-in-law, Patt (Bernard) Heiny and Carol Farr; several nieces and nephews, and his favorite cat, TopCat. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lawrence Overbey, and his special dog, Dusty. Visitation is Monday, September 12, 2016 from 12pm-1pm at WARREN FUNERAL HOME, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee. Memorial services are Monday, September 12, 2016 at 1pm at the funeral home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any animal shelter of your choice.
