Dee Canfield, sr

Dee Roger Canfield, Sr., 64, of Waukegan passed away on Friday, August 14, 2009 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan after a courageous four year battle with ALS. He was born on December 4, 1944 in Carthage, MO to the late Roland and Maggie (Jordan) Canfield. On May 14, 1971 in Waukegan, Dee married Barbara A. Kisel. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Barbara A. Canfield; two sons, Dee Roger Canfield, Jr. of San Diego, CA and Thomas Dwayne Canfield of Waukegan; one daughter, Annette (Jeremy Secoy) Damron of Waukegan; one sister, Vivian Canfield of Joplin, MO; four grandchildren, Peter Damron, Maryk Secoy, Dakota Secoy and Cheyanne Secoy and long-time friend, Irene Savage of Waukegan. Dee retired after 23 years of service as a Sea Bee Mechanic in the US Navy. He was a good friend to all and had a very kind heart. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 21, 2009 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at York House United Methodist Church, 37768 N. Green Bay Rd., Beach Park. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, August 21, 2009 at the church with Pastor Paul Gerardy officiating. Entombment will follow at Warren Cemetery, Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, Gurnee. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the family.
