Daniel A. Barron, 68, of Zion, went home to be with his Lord on July 14, 2015 at the Pavilion in Waukegan, Illinois after a long battle with cancer. He was born February 8, 1947 in St. Louis, MO to Joseph and Ellen (Swanson) Barron and grew up in Waukegan, IL. He is survived by his loving family, mother, Ellen Barron; brothers, Kenneth (Julie) Barron and Robert Barron; sisters, Joan (Tim) Glover and Karen (Larry) Larson; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Barron. Daniel was a US Army Veteran who served during the Vietnam War in Okinawa, Japan. He worked and retired from Morton Manufacturing in Libertyville after 30 years of service. He volunteered with the AWANA Children's group for 10 years as a leader. Although he had no children of his own, he sponsored children in India and the Philippines through Children's International. He was a member of Christ Community Church in Zion. Visitation will be Monday, July 20, 2015 from 5-8pm at WARREN FUNERAL HOME, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee. Funeral services are Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 11:00 am the funeral home with Pastor Timothy Glover officiating. Entombment will follow at Warren Cemetery & Mausoleum, Gurnee. Memorial donations may be made to the Family Resource Center of Zion (FRCZ), 1622-23rd Street, Zion, IL.
