Charles Alvin Daniels Sr, 81 of North Chicago, IL, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital in Lake Forest, IL.
He was born on March 19, 1939, to the late Thomas and Jennie (Parks) Daniels in Louisville, KY. On February 28, 1987, he married Bertina Mae Edwards in Las Vegas, NV. Charles retired from the U.S. Navy after 25 years of service rising to the rank of E-9, Master Chief Electrician’s Mate. He faithfully served the Lord Almighty God as a Deacon at his church home, First Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church in North Chicago, IL. His passions included serving on First Corinthian’s finance committee and bible studies ministry. He was a doting family man, world traveler, and an avid chess player. Charles was proud of his service to country and leadership role while serving in the U.S. Navy, which included several tours of duty in Vietnam. Charles was a self-made man who graduated from high school at age 16 and later went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. Charles would often proudly proclaim, “When I pass do not cry for me, I’ll be on my journey to meet and serve the Lord.”
Charles is survived by his wife Bertina, his 2 children from his previous wife and their families; Charles (Crystal) Daniels and Tywnia (Aaron) Brewton, his grandchildren; Charles (Sarah) Daniels, III, Damon Daniels, Marque Daniels, Danyelle Daniels, Angela Daniels, Aaron Brewton, Jr., Marquesa Daniels, Anthony Brewton and Dyonna Bonner, and his great grandchildren; Darius Daniels, Braylon Daniels, Jayce Sprenger, Brooklynn Daniels, and Micheal Dunn, and his loving sisters, Marion Logan and Lois Duffy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 7 siblings and his daughter Aiona Daniels
All visitations will take place at Warren Funeral Home and Cemetery located at 1475 N. Cemetery Rd. Gurnee, IL.

Due to the current Global Pandemic (Covid-19), strict state-mandated measures are being implemented.
In accordance with current State of Illinois mandates due to the Covid-19 pandemic, all guests will be required to wear a face mask at all times.
