Carolina Mailig, age 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, December 5, 2024. She was born February 25, 1935, in the Philippines, a daughter of the late Eladio (Loreta) Pascual.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mario Mailig; two sons, Leonardo Mailig and Edgardo Mailig; her daughter-in-law Fely Mailig; her son-in-law Dante Tantengco.
She is survived by her dear sister Josephine Stark and brother Rudolfo Pascual; her loving children Leonora Tantengco and Ronald (Grace) Mailig; her cherished grandchildren including Ronnae Carl Mailig, Mark Anthony Mailig, Jasper Owen Mailig, and Danby Marc (Melissa) Tantengco; her darling great-grandchildren Devin and Blake Tantengco; daughter-in-law Marites Mailig.
In her life, she weathered through many hardships and only sought what was best for her family. She worked at Solo Cup in Highland Park and retired after many years. Of the many ways she has provided for her family, Carolina was very passionate about her cooking. Their kitchen was always filled with the comforting aromas of home-cooked meals. Even at her old age, she chooses to cook her specialty dish, pancit, for most family gatherings.
Every morning, Carolina could be found in quiet prayer, seeking solace and strength from their deep connection with God. Their mornings were a sacred time, spent in reflection and devotion, often accompanied by the comforting presence of the morning Mass. This daily ritual was a testament to Carolina's steadfast faith and commitment to living a life guided by the teachings of the Church. She was a loyal parishioner of St. Anastasia Church. May Carolina’s soul rest in peace, embraced by the love of God and the prayers of those who hold them dear.
