Carol Mae Melvin, 61, of Waukegan formerly of Mississippi, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Pavilion of Waukegan. She was born on November 1, 1950 in Harvey, Illinois to Edwin Ray and Alice Mae (Brault) Weekly.
She is survived by her two loving sons, Jason (Samantha) Medina of Ridgeland, MS and Jeffrey Medina of Naples, FL; mother, Alice Mae Weekly of Lindenhurst; one sister, Joyce Fay (Neal) Soapes of Lindenhurst; two brothers, David Ray Weekly of Waukegan and Richard Jay (Ginny) Weekly of Lindenhurst; three grandchildren, Benjamin Alexander Medina, Anna Kaitlin Medina and Rebekah Lea Carlton Misner; five nieces and nephews, Amy, Kari, Kinzie, Ricky and Jessica. She was preceded in death by her father, Edwin Ray Weekly and sister-in-law, Caryl Weekly.
Carol loved animals, especially cats, was an avid Jeff Gordon fan, enjoyed watching Florida State Seminoles College Football, and was always up for a good game of scrabble.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 8, 2011 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at WARREN FUNERAL HOME, 1475 N. Cemetery Road, Gurnee. Interment will follow at Warren Cemetery & Mausoleum, Gurnee.
In lieu of flowers, Carol requested donations be made to an animal shelter of your choice.
