Carol Longo

Carol J. Longo, 72, of Antioch, IL passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL. She was born on February 18, 1937 in Racine, WI. On September 17, 1955 in Racine, Carol married Thomas J. Longo. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Thomas; son, Scott (Denise) Longo of Belleville, IL and daughter Melissa (Sean) Longo-Royer of Lake Bluff, IL; grandchildren, Bryan (Majda) Monte, Robert Monte, Danielle (William) Draughn, Ashley Longo, Brittney Longo, Corey Longo, Rocco Royer, Gianni Royer and Luca Royer; great grandchildren, Shayne Stuart, Damien Draughn and Allisa Huwer; brothers, Paul (Sam) VanMarter, Jr. of Beloit, WI and Wesley VanMarter of Black River Falls, WI and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Alice (nee Cramblett) VanMarter, Sr., sisters, Marjorie Schmoll and Nene VanMarter and sister-in-law, Kathy VanMarter. Carol was a loving and attentive grandmother who enjoyed reading to her grandchildren. She had a passion for gardening, bowling and was an avid sports fan. Her baking was prepared with love and enjoyed by many. Family and friends may meet on Friday, September 18, 2009 from 4-8 pm at Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Warren Cemetery & Mausoleum, Gurnee.
