Carmen A. Melencion

Carmen A. Melencion, age 95, passed away surrounded by her loving family on January 15, 2024. Beloved wife of Abdon Melencion of 65 years. Loving mother of Judith (Allan) Isidro and the late Evan Michael "Dong Mike" Melencion (survived by Teodomera Margate Melencion). Proud grandmother of May (Ronald), Nicole (Christopher), and Samantha. Dear sister of Eufemia (the late Clemente) Cristobal and Remegio (Dominga Salazar) Alegado and the late Marcela (the late Alberto) Mascarinas, Exequila (the late Teodulfo Sr.) Lofranco, and Graciano (the late Herrera) Alegado. Cherished daughter of the late Gaudiosa and Jacinto Alegado. Dear aunt, cousin, and friend to many who will miss her.    

Carmen, a beloved and respected teacher, enjoyed baking, especially her delicious banana bread and binangkal. Alongside her fondness for gardening and nurturing her orchids, she was renowned for her warm hospitality—always ready to share a meal the moment you stepped into her home. Carmen's spirited nature, refined taste, love for her family and friends, and steadfast commitment to her faith will leave an indelible void that will be profoundly missed.

Friends and family will meet for visitation on Monday, January 22, 2024 from 4PM-8PM at Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N. Cemetery Road, Gurnee, IL 60031. The Funeral Service will be 10AM on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 135 S. Milwaukee Avenue, Lake Villa, IL 60046. Interment to follow at Warren Cemetery, 1475 N. Cemetery Road, Gurnee, IL 60031.
