Betty Humphrey

Betty L. Humphrey, 81 of Park City, IL passed away at JourneyCare in Glenview, IL on Wednesday April 18, 2018.

She was born on September 24, 1936 to the late Edgar and Ossie (Reed) Porter in Mammoth Spring, AR. On March 27, 1954 she married Elby Humphrey. He preceded her in death on January 23, 2001. She worked as a lunch lady at Lyon Magnet School in Waukegan. She was an Alderwoman for Park City for 17 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and loved to help people. She enjoyed baking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening and her flowers. She truly enjoyed having her family for Holiday Meals.

Betty is survived by her daughter Carol Lopez, her granddaughter's; Kathy (Rolf) Baker, Suzette Lane-Boyd, Heather (Steve) Rosenthal, great grandchildren; Whitley (Jason) Cathon, Haley (Chris) Popp, Christian Suzewitz, Noah Boyd, Shelby Boyd, Rolf "George" Baker, Hunter Rosenthal, Lexi Rosenthal, brother's; Lawrence (Imogene) Porter, Melvin (Christy) Porter, Leon (Connie) Porter, her son-in-law Dan Lane, sister-in-law Louise Pearsall and her "adopted daughter" Rose Kuzera. She is also survived by her puppies Ian and Olivia, as well as, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband Elby, her parents, her daughter Peggy Lane, her great grandson Elby Boyd, brother, J.D. (Iva Chloe) Porter, sisters Kathleen (Monroe) Schutt and Maxine (Ernie) Cook.

Visitation will be held on Monday April 23, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Warren Funeral Home located at 1475 N. Cemetery Rd. Gurnee, IL. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on April 24, 2018 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the family would be greatly appreciated.

Burial will be at Highland Cemetery.
