Aurea Dysangco

Aurea Behasa Marquez Dysangco, age 78, devoted wife, influential mother, and doting grandmother passed away Friday September 21, 2018.

Aurea grew up in Candelaria, Quezon, Philippines. She immigrated to the United States in the early 60's. For over 30+ years, she was a dedicated nurse. Aurea has always considered Gurnee her home where she raised her two daughters.

While her children were young, she enjoyed traveling. Every summer brought a new adventure, including week long road trips all across the country and plenty of camping. Aurea enjoyed gardening in her backyard, early morning fishing with her husband, cooking with the latest and greatest gadget to hit the market, and dancing to Elvis, Prince, and Whitney.

In 1995, she contracted West Nile Virus, which almost took her life and was partially paralyzed. She overcame so much adversity. Through it all, her jovial, gentle and caring spirit only became stronger. Her faith in God and Jesus Christ was unwavering. Her love and devotion to her husband knew no bounds.

Aurea was always thinking of everyone else. Even though she retired from nursing she always said that she still had one patient, her husband. Recently, she especially loved having the grandkids sleep over and spend weekends with her. She always encouraged them to find their passion and celebrated all of their talents. Her lifelong hobby was taking care of everyone around her.

Aurea is survived by her husband of 47 years, Romeo, her daughters Rachel (Andy) and Rhea, grandchildren, Xander, Zoe, & Coral. She is preceded in death by her mother, Rosa Behasa and her brother, Petronilo.

Children and grandchildren were the pride and joy of Aurea's life. The legacy of her kind spirit, loving nature, and zeal for life will live on through them.

Friends and family are welcome to attend the visitation on Friday, September 28, 2018 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and again on Saturday, September 29, 2018 from 10:00-11:00 A.M.at Warren Cemetery and Funeral Home located at 1475 N. Cemetery Road, Gurnee, Illinois, 60031.Services will be on Saturday, September 29 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Father James Merold will officiate.

Burial will be at Warren Cemetery.
