Born in Lovelaceville, Kentucky on June 8th, 1927 and moved to Brookport, Illinois at the age of six.
EDUCATION: Massac Grade School, Lincoln High, West Kentucky State College, Coyne Electrical, Chicago
HISTORY: In 1945 Archie was inducted at Fort Sheridan, Illinois and served in the E.P.O. France and Germany in Communication with honorable discharge.
Archie is a Former member of the Planning Committee for the City of North Chicago, a former member of the Apprentice Training Program with Lake County Automotive, a Member and Secretary of Five Points Economic Development Program City of North Chicago.
He also was a Registered Technician with Ford Motor Division, a Registered Service Manager with Ford Motor Division and worked for Lincoln Mercury for twenty two years.
In 1973 Archie was the first African American elected as City Treasurer of North Chicago.
Self Employed with ADCO Development and as manager of Patton Plumbing (Both minority owned business).
Archie was a loyal member of the First Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee, Deacon, Treasurer of the Building Fund, and a Sunday School Instructor of the Senior Class.
He joined Sliver Crown #26 Metropolis, IL in 1949. Demitted to Rufus Mitchell #107 in 1952, was a Past Patron of Emblem Chapter #140, a Past Master of Rufus Mitchell #107, a Past Potentate of Shawall Temple #165, a member of the Stanley J Harris Chapter #60, Holy Royal Arch Masons, a member of Prince Hall Council #8, Royal and Select Masters, member of the Godfrey Commandery #5 Knight Templar, Past Imperial Deputy of Oasis and Imperial Advisor of Oasis of Waukegan. Additionally, he was a member of Western Consistory #28 Chicago, a member of the United Supreme Council Northern Jurisdiction P.H.A., a 33i�� Mason, a member of the Past Master Council 1st District, and the 35th Grand Master of the State of Illinois and Jurisdictions.
Archie received numerous awards from Masonic Fraternities, City of North Chicago, Religious Wards, and Awards from Ford Motors Divisions.

Archie C. Senter leaves to cherish in his loving memory: 4 daughters; Jean (Eugene) Jones of Columbia, Missouri, Sherhonda (Michael) Jackson of Toledo, Ohio, Arlene(Samuel) Hasty of Wadsworth, IL and Bridgett(Ian) Cler of San Diego, California.
Archie also leaves five grandchildren, Jason Jones, Chelvic Simmons, Janekka Simmons, Jocelyn (Karim) Ross and Jeanette (John) Humphries; seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
