Amy T. Welk, 47, of Lake in the Hills, passed away suddenly at Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin. She was born on April 16, 1966 in Terre Haute, Indiana. On June 12, 1997, Amy married Dale Welk. She is survived by her loving husband of 16 years, Dale; father, John (Nancy) Steffen; mother, Nancy (Ray) Sessoms; father-in-law, Wayne Welk; sisters, Susan (Keith) Llorens, Michelle (Steven) Rouland, Emily (Brad) Finch and Katie (Mariano) Hernandez; brother-in-law, Alan (Ann) Welk; nieces and nephews, Rebekah, Taylor, Sarah, Lauren, David, Jack, Luke, Marcia, Joe, Misty, Alex and Morgan. She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Lois Welk and brother-in-law, Carl Welk. Amy worked as a Transportation Systems Planner at the State of Illinois Department of Transportation until her passing. She was a longtime member of Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, Illinois where she enjoyed being with the ladies in her small group. Visitation will be Thursday, March 27, 2014 from 4-8pm at Village Church of Gurnee, 1319 Hunt Club Road, Gurnee. Funeral services are Friday, March 28, 2014 at 10am at the church with one hour of visitation prior to services at the church. Burial will be Friday, March 28, 2014 at 4pm at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Flossmoor, Illinois. Memorial donations may be made to Willow Creek Community Church and Willow Creek Paradise Christian Youth Camp..
