Allan Leafblad

Allan E. "Buster" Leafblad, 86, of Gurnee, IL, passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha, WI. He was born on June 1, 1923 in Mason, WI to Hildemar and Britta (nee Westlund) Leafblad. On November 2, 1946 in Mason, WI, Allan married Esther M. Sandstrom. He is survived by his four loving sons, Robert (Barbara) Leafblad of Kenosha, WI, Terrance (Nancy) Leafblad of Brookfield, WI, Gary (Carol) Leafblad of Coon Rapids, MN and Mick (Cathy) Leafblad of Gurnee, IL; daughter-in-law, Jeannie Leafblad of Bristol, WI; thirteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; brothers, Paul (Char) Leafblad of Beach Park, IL, Earl Leafblad of Waukegan, IL; sisters, Linnea (Bert) Engstrom of Milwaukee, WI, Gerry Bell of Orlando, FL; sisters-in-law, Clara (Leafblad) Johnson of Libertyville, IL, Duff Leafblad of Bayfield, WI and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife of 63 years, Esther Leafblad, one son, Rodney Leafblad and six brothers and sisters. Allan was a WWII Army veteran. He was co-owner and operated Leafblad Landscaping in Gurnee for forty years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and story-telling. A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 28, 2010 from 2:00 pm until 5:30 pm at Village Church of Gurnee, 1319 N. Hunt Club Rd., Gurnee, IL. A memorial service will take place on Monday, March 29, 2010 at 11:00 am at Immanuel Church, 2300 N. Dilleys Rd., Gurnee, IL. Pastor Donald Tremper will officiate services. Entombment is at Warren Cemetery, Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, Gurnee, IL. Arrangements entrusted to Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee, IL.
