Allan R. Fernhout, 71, of Lake County, IL, formerly of Milwaukee, WI passed away on Monday, January 25, 2010 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. He was born on November 4, 1938 in Milwaukee, WI. On August 18, 1962 in Milwaukee, WI, Allan married Margaret A. Makovec. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Margaret Fernhout; three children, Gale (Alan) Jellings of Trevor, WI, Jeffery (Laura) Fernhout of Zion, IL and Terri (Tony) Vienonen; nine grandchildren, Matt, Chris and Aimee Jellings, Nicole and Coda Fernhout, Angela, Zachary, Stephanie and Jessica Vienonen and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Monica (Kleiner) Fernhout and two brothers, Robert and Richard Fernhout. Allan served in the United States Navy during Vietnam and retired after more than twenty years of service. He was a member of Gurnee Community Church where he served as an Usher and in the choir for many years. He was also a member of the Gagewood Lions Club, the Grandwood Park Civic Association, the Gurnee American Legion and the Waukegan Moose Lodge. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2010 from 4-8 pm at WARREN FUNERAL HOME, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee. Funeral services will take place on Friday, January 29, 2010 at 11 am with one hour of visitation prior to services. Rev. Joseph Wilcox from Gurnee Community Church will officiate the services. Entombment will follow at Warren Cemetery, Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, Gurnee.
