Alice "Peggy" Foster, 72, of Wadsworth, departed February 7, 2014 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan. She was born July 9, 1941 in Waukegan to Allen and Rose Payne. She professed her faith in Christ at the age of 12 at First Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church in North Chicago. She later attended Greater St. James Temple for many years, then transferred to Chapel of the Cross Lutheran Church which later consolidated with Trinity United Lutheran Church in Waukegan, where she remained a faithful member until her passing. She attended and graduated from North Chicago Community High School in 1959. She then went on to attend Illinois State University for 1 year, and then the University of Chicago where she studied and became a medical secretary. She began her secretarial career first as a medical secretary for 10 years at Highland Park Hospital, and then as a North Chicago Elementary School Secretary for 26 years retiring in 1998. On February 6, 1961 in Decatur, Alabama, Peggy married the love of her life, Robert G. Foster. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Robert; her 2 loving children, Scott (Doris) Foster and Holly (Ray Smith) Foster; 4 grandchildren, Robert R. Foster, Marcus Foster, Dana Anderson and Kevin Anderson, Jr.; 6 great grandchildren, Robert, Anaisha and Ray Foster, Kyra, Kayla and Kzah Anderson. She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 son, Kevin Anderson, Sr. and 1 sister, Vera Fulford. During the many phases of her life she was a Sunday school teacher, an avid reader, enjoyed bowling, traveling, crossword puzzles and had a great passion for sports. She enjoyed most of all spending time with her beloved family.
Funeral services are Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 11am with one hour of visitation prior to services at Trinity United Lutheran Church, 658 Grand Ave., Waukegan. Entombment will follow at Warren Cemetery & Mausoleum, Gurnee. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
