Alan "YeeYee" Schackney of Lincolnshire passed away April 6, 2024. Born July 30, 1950 to John and Mary Schackney in Chicago, Alan was one of four siblings.
Alan was an avid bowler and adored making bead necklaces for anyone and everyone, particularly his many flirtations and girlfriends. He was a lively and loving man all through his life, and one couldn't help but become fast friends with him. Through his career working for Pizza Hut and even afterwards, during outings he'd frequently receive warm, familiar greetings from people who were complete strangers to the rest of his family, as his constant smile, mischievous humor, and charismatic cheer made him unforgettable and easy to talk to. It is no overstatement to say he leaves behind an indelible mark in the hearts of everyone who met him.
Alan is survived by his sister Arlene Garich, adoring niece Jonie (Bill) Peltier, and his precious great-nephews Jacob and Matthew.
He joins at rest his parents, sister Geraldine Caldwell, and brother John Schackney, Jr.
Alan was a longtime resident of the Riverside Foundation in Linconshire. In honor of their assistance, friendship, and the joy they brought to Alan's life, his family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be directed there.
