Adella Rosa Preston born Adella Christina Rosa in Chicago on May 9, 1964 to Gloria Maria Rosa of Puerto Rico and man was she proud to be Puerto Rican. Adella Passed away June 27, 2016 in Libertyville, Illinois after valiantly losing her fight with cancer.
Adella was raised in the Catholic Church and had more recently attended The Chapel in Libertyville. She loved immediate and extended family, "This much!" and "As high as the sky, and as deep as the ocean." She enjoyed the unconditional love of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She also loved to cook (for an army), and stuffing others with her special arroz con gandules, singing, doing her tap dance, playing at the arcade 'collecting those tickets!'
She loved to smile and laugh especially as she served her many loyal customers at Sally Beauty Supply. Adella is survived by her husband David Scott Preston, her four amazing children Natalie & Steve Helding (Nat), Joseph (Joe) Rosa, Tony Rosa & Elizabeth Jocson Rosa, and David-John (DJ) Preston as well as her four amazing grandchildren Noah Colon, Ethan Rosa, Natalia Helding (Stevie Wonder), and Nehemiah Jocson-Rosa (Neil Diamond).
Adella is also survived by a wide and loving extended family including her sisters and brothers as well as many friends and co-workers that she treated as immediate family. Adella was preceded in death by her mother Gloria Marie Rosa. Hey mom, save a spot for all of us, until we meet again, we love you. Visitation will be 4-7pm, Thursday, June 30, 2016 at The Chapel, 1200 American Way, Libertyville, Illinois. Funeral Services will follow at 7pm at the same location.
